Hello, my name is Roberto Pena, I live in Argentina in the city of Esquel, and more than 18 years ago I started my website design business, Punto Web Esquel, my projects are entirely done in WordPress CMS.
Before starting with the main topic I wanted to thank Pamelis for the invitation to make a post on her site, and wish her good luck with her agency, she is a great professional.
But let's get started, today I'm going to talk about the trends for website design that we have for this 2021.
The design of a web page goes hand in hand with the advance of technology. Every day, new tools emerge to make the user experience more pleasant and simple, so it is necessary to adapt to new structures, formats and trends.
We must never lose sight of the objective: to promote and sell products or services. But if we do not have an updated and well-designed website, it will be difficult to achieve it.
Remember that image speaks volumes and if potential customers come across an outdated and disorganized site, they will not make a correct reference of your business.
That is why it is necessary to stay at the forefront, renew the look and stick to updated styles that respond to visitors' tastes.
Keep track of these ideas
Simplicity takes the lead in 2021 by coupling graphic elements that harmonize the interface.
Get to know some of these ideas that are now setting the standard for web design:
- Minimalism. Experts are not wrong when they say that "less is more". These are projects in which white or light tones predominate, only the necessary elements are added, typographies have only one color and images are soft; in general, cleanliness prevails.
Distractions such as banners, chats or pop-ups are left out, as they are considered intrusive. Even subscription forms are under scrutiny, as far as legality is concerned.
- Hero. It proposes evolution in contrast to the designs used in recent times. Gradually relegates the sliders, because they require time to visualize them, apart from consuming a lot of resources while loading.
It poses completely wide images, which immediately attract the user's eye. They can be used as the cover of a page. Sometimes they are merged with gradient colors and transparent buttons, due to their lightness.
- Handmade. It refers specifically to the typography used. They are character fonts that give a unique personality to the web page.
It is suggested to take advantage of them in the areas we want to highlight, such as headlines, logos and header.
This is not to say that large fonts should be completely eliminated, as it is clear that they have an impact and are intended to interact with the user.
Texts placed horizontally and vertically are also taken into account, as a resource that captures the visitor's attention.
- Responsive design. It is practically mandatory this year for websites to be responsive. The purpose is that the user spends more time on our page; for this, it has to mean readability, usability and speed of navigation.
It is essential that it is responsive on any device, regardless of the type of design used. Therefore, the loading speed must be optimal and will depend on the graphic aspect.
- Cinemagraphs. This is another of the trends of 2018. It consists of still images with some part in motion; according to surveys, in the year they would have more presence than videos.
Cinemagraphs can be created with Photoshop, without being experts in graphic design. Due to the boom they are experiencing, it is possible that more applications (such as Zoetropic) will emerge to make them.
- Modular designs. It sticks to the alternative of simple finishes, for example Pinterest. This interface becomes easier for the user, if there is less text and load more blocks that adapt to reading and responsive on any device, always making it less heavy.
Let's get to work
They are just a glimpse of what is in vogue this year. The idea is not to use them all, but to choose the ones that correspond to the goals and purposes of your project.
With these tips get to work and catch us with an excellent website.
Greetings from Patagonia Argentina
